Made a Difference

Some stories of what churches have done in previous years…

STRONG HANDS REACH OUT FOR WEAK HANDS

Making “Linus Blankets” for terminally ill children has become one of the most touching ministries of our LOGOS program.  As each youth pulls, knots or ties a thread, a prayer is offered for the child that will receive the blanket.

Jillian offered this prayer of dedication during our spring LOGOS Worship Service:  “These Linus Blankets were made from the strength of our hands and the love of our Lord.  Today we give them to children who need His warmth and care.  So from now on, they will know they are “children of God,” made in God’s image.  Amen”

TOY DRIVE

The congregation as a whole has become involved in our Christmas Toy Give-Away at LOGOS.  What started out as a nice “little” mission experience for the children, became a big outpouring of love from the congregation.  The children shared their gently used toys by the hundreds and members of the congregation purchased many new toys.  Everyone worked together to set up, serve treats, wrap all the chosen gifts and be the face of LOGOS and love to our community.

SOUPER BOWLS

One of our most popular Family Time themes over the years has been “Souper Bowl” night, to raise money and cans of food to feed the hungry in our county. Members of the congregation cook pots of soup which are served to the entire congregation by our LOGOS middle and high school youth.  The LOGOS youth not only do the serving, but decorate, set the tables, clean up, and help collect the monetary and food donations. It is a wonderful mission opportunity that also involves the entire congregation.
