Sardis Presbyterian Church, Charlotte, NC
From Renda Brinson: We are doing a special project – but it is scheduled for December 2 – missing November slightly. We are going to one of our Assisted Living facilities. Each child is bringing a small gift for one of the residents in the Alzheimer’s unit. Each reisdent will draw a number and the student with that number will present their gift. We are also going to sing Carols with and for them – all prior to their dinner hour. Gifts will include socks, scarves, lotions, etc. The facility is working with us on the gift list and we will make cards to go with them.

This is a wonderful idea—fairly simple to organize and implement, yet every child will be able to personalize their gift. It will make a big difference in the lives of the residents in the Alzheimer unit as well as an unforgettable experience for the children. This is how teaching children to “serve from the heart” begins.
